Interestingly, our hands-on image (above) shows the box of the Oppo AX5 with the recent render leaked by mysmartprice.com appearing on the front. Although there was a confusion regarding the name, our exclusive images show that the phone will be marketed as Oppo AX5 and not R15 Neo (see the box in our exclusive images). Our exclusive pictures confirm that the phone will come in two colour variants, Diamond Blue and Diamond Pink.

Oppo AX5: Specs and Features

As per the spec sheet, this phone will house a screen of 6.2-inch In-Cell IPS LCD screen coupled with a resolution of HD+, 1520x720 pixels. Apart from this, the phone is said to house 16.7 million colours and 10-point multi-touch along with a screen that incorporates lesser bezels. The display comes with the iconic teardrop notch, as used by Oppo before. Other than this, our exclusive look at the phones show that there is ample screenspace for viewing that does not hurt the eyes.

As per the general trend, you can see that Oppo has stuck with the popular dual cameras. The rear shooters are said to be 13MP and 2MP, respectively, and are stacked next to each other. The secondary shooter will come with an 8MP selfie camera. The rear cameras will have the feature f/2.2 aperture and f/2.4 aperture for rear and primary cameras, respectively. The rear cameras are also supposed to feature autofocus and LED flash. The front shooter comes with f/2.2 aperture. As you can see, the phone sits snug in the hands.

As for what’s inside the hood, Oppo AX5 comes with the latest Android version, Android Oreo (8.1). Apart from this, the phone packs a large battery of 4230mAh battery that would give about a day’s worth of juice to the phone, making it quite comfortable to use. Oppo AX5 comes with 1.8GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU chipset and with Adreno 506 GPU clocked at 600MHz. The dimensions of the phone stand at 156.2×75.6×8.2mm, weighing about 168g, the phone will be unveiled with two memory variants. The two memory configurations will stand at 3GB RAM+64GB and 4GB RAM+64GB storage options.

The phone will be shipped with essential sensors such as an ambient light sensor, compass, accelerometer, proximity sensor and a g-sensor. Apart from this, the company will bundle the box with a screen protector for the phone and a case. This dual-SIM phone will support 4G/LTE connections and will support Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headphone port, a micro USB 2.0 port, 4G VoLTE and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n ac.

As for the fingerprint sensor, there is no official news as of now. However, judging by the on-going trend, Oppo could incorporate a fingerprint sensor for this phone as well. To point out, our hands-on look images do not show any rear mounted fingerprint sensor, so we can only wait for the official unveiling to know. Our images confirm the two diamond colour variants, which is quite iconic, to be honest, and the teardrop notch on the phone. Lesser bezels on the screen give you ample of viewing space on the phone.

Since Oppo AX5 is to be a midrange phone, we can expect the price to be below the 20K benchmark. The official prices may differ and on the image you can see that it's mentioned in Taiwan currency.
