Update: Hands-on images of the Redmi Note 6 Pro has been leaked
After bringing you the first hands-on video of the iPhone (2018) mockups and the first leaked images of the Oppo AX5 and the first hands-on look at the upcoming LG Q9. We are happy to bring to you an exclusive first look at images of the Redmi Note 6 ProWith the new Redmi 6 series coming to the Indian Shores only recently, it was time the Note 6 series too comes to fore. With the previous generation Note 5 Pro being launched first in India, having the Note 6 Pro launch in India first would be a swell thing. But first let us have a look at the images, basic specifications and price of the upcoming Redmi Note 6 Pro.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: First Look
While the basic specifications and image of the front of the phone were leaked recently we have managed to find images which shows the Redmi Note 6 Pro in full glory. With Xiaomi talking a lot about customer feedback and explaining how the notch is an important feature for the Indian customer the Redmi Note 6 Pro is adorned with a notch as well. The design is nothing unique and does resemble the iPhone X even more in the images. Look carefully and the screen protector placement helps form a uniform bezel around the display. Wile that looks very convincing there is probably a chin hiding in there somewhere. What can be seen clearly are the two front-facing cameras, which if the specifications are to be believed is a 20MPx + 2MPx unit, while the main sensor does seem to be the same as the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The 2MPx secondary sensor will help it in depth enabled photos and the phone will have support for Xiaomi’s ever-popular AI Portrait Mode, AI Scene Detection, AI Beautify modes. The front camera will also support AI Face Unlock as even the most basic Redmi 6A supports it. The rear snappers although sound the same at 12MPx and 5MPx, but in fact the main sensor is going to be an upgrade. While the Redmi Note 5 Pro's 12MPx sensor had 1.25micron pixel size, the Redmi Note 6 Pro will have 1.4micron pixel size. The large-sized pixels will enable more light for better low light imaging. Autofocusing too seems to have received an upgrade with Dual Pixel autofocus taking charge for better and faster autofocusing. While the image doesn't show it, given Xiaomi's recent lineup the video recording will probably support EIS for smoother videos.
Moving on to the next piece of specification the display which is now larger (6.26 inches) and much taller (19:9 aspect ratio) which should improve usability. The notch too features prominently and for people who hate it, there may be an option to disable it as well.
Finally, we have the battery which is 4000mAh in capacity. If there is something Xiaomi loves more than the Snapdragon 625, it is the 4000mAh battery and its great Xiaomi did not try to skip on it as they did with the Mi A2 and Mi A1 phones.
Now moving on to the back of the phone which we can see in the exclusive image we have managed to procure doesn't show a huge variation in design. It is similar to the Note 5 Pro especially the camera placement and fingerprint sensor. The phone follows the vertical setup with the flash in the middle just like the iPhone X. Apart from that, it doesn't look any different than the recently launched Redmi 6 Pro or Mi A2. But one little detail that we can confirm by looking at the rear of the phone is the presence of the headphone jack. This is a huge relief as more and more manufacturers are removing it like OnePlus and even Xiaomi on the Mi A2.
The sticker at the back of the, however, does show a diagram of what looks like a hybrid sim slot. This was present on the previous generation Note 5 Pro as well. While a dedicated sd card slot is great to have, at least Xiaomi is not removing it completely like on the Mi A2.
Finally, we have managed to get two images showing the backside of the box of the Redmi Note 6 Pro which confirms a few things like, a soft case is provided in the box. This isn't something new and is a trend seen in most new Xiaomi phones.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: Specs and Features
From what we have seen from our exclusive first look images of the Redmi Note 6 Pro we can confirm the following specifications.
Display: 6.26 inches with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch. Most probably a Full HD+ display
Front Camera: 20Mpx main camera + 2Mpx for depth sensing
Rear Camera: 12Mpx main sensor with 1.4-micron pixel size +5 Mpx depth sensor, Dual Pixel autofocusing support and dual tone led flash

Connectivity & Expandability: 3.5mm headphone jack
Storage Variants: 3GB/32GB , 4GB/64GB

In Box Items: Phone, Sim card removal tool, USB cable and soft case
Apart from these, the internet is full of leaks and specifications. The processor is going to be Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 which will bring tremendous improvements in CPU and GPU performance, which will truly make the phone a beast at the price and also a competitor to Xiaomi's own Mi A2- their Snapdragon 636 based Android One smartphone.
Another thing we can speculate or wish for, is some type of fast charging maybe Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 or even the latest Quick Charge 4.0 along with the reversible USB-C type port, something that was badly missed on the Redmi Note 5 Pro (although it did support QC 2.0).
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: Launch and price
Given the specifications and design, it should land somewhere near the same price point of the Mi A2 or higher than a Redmi Note 5 Pro. Also what our source says is that the price will be €219.90 for the 3GB/32GB model and € 249.90 for the 4GB/64GB model. The value when converted into Indian Rupees comes to nearly Rs. 18,569 for the 3GB/32GB version and Rs. 21,099 for the 4GB/64GB version. Which is way more than the Redmi Note 5 Pro it replaces, the Mi A2 and a direct competitor to the Poco F1. While we can understand a premium price because of the newer more powerful processor and larger screen, the proximity to the Poco F1 worries us. We just hope Xiaomi works its magic and manages to price it around the Mi A2 price or even below it.
Coming to when the phone will be launched, they should do it in a few weeks as the market is heating up like never before with the Rs.15000-Rs.25000 smartphone market getting more and more exciting entrants from various companies.
